Wetherell - the finest fly fishing writer?
Wetherell takes my vote as the finest fly-fishing writer. His intimacy with the streams of New England, Vermont and New Hampshire; his sense of history; his critical gaze on faddism and the globalisation of fly-fishing; his urge to keep things simple. Like him, "I am content to try a lazy cast now and then and put most of my effort into watching".

Wow, you expose a hole in my reading. Actually, there are many holes in my reading -- but I was surprised that I haven't even heard of this author you enjoy so much. I'm going to have to check him out.
Thanks for the tip.
Hi Tony...Happy Holidays! A good friend of mine gave me Taylor Streit's book Instinctive Fly Fishing for Christmas--he's a friend of Taylor's and says Taylor is an AMAZING guide. I haven't started reading it yet, but I'll let you know. It would be hard to touch the literary finesse of Wetherell. -Lene
thanks Bpaul for looking in. I don't think Wetherell is much read outside of the US, which is a pity.
Hi Lene'. Really nice to hear from you. Let me know about Taylor Streit. Happy New Year to you!
